The Emerald Year

There’s something about this photo that I love so much. It’s like a scene in a book that jumps out at you from its pages, or a still from a movie you’d remember for ages. It’s that one beautiful moment that lingers with you forever, where the afternoon sun catches the gold in her hair, and the warmth of his smile casts all your cares away.

Ok, ok, ok. This photo is getting me all carried away. I know my blog has been inactive for the longest time, but I’m still alive and enjoying the holidays! And what better way to greet the new year than with a collaboration shoot from one of my favorite male bloggers, John of Just JDY?

We decided to go with the flow and come up with a contemporary holiday look by incorporating hues of emerald green and burgundy. Christmas somehow reminds me of cold weather, so what better way to stay warm and fuzzy than with a velvet coat in a dark emerald green? I’ve been waiting for a chance to wear this coat for ages, and as luck would have it, emerald green is the pantone color for 2013 hooray! Burgundy is in too, what are the odds?

Stef: Bakit mo ako sinaktan ng ganito John?!?

John: Patawarin mo na ako!

Stef: Ok!

Haha. So much for a riveting storyline Do bear with me. heehee.

Back to the outfit. The coat was a tad too bulky so I made sure to cinch my waist with a belt to keep my figure. And with a coat such as this, stockings and boots were a definite must!

For my accessories, I also kept with the Christmas theme by accessorizing with gold and burgundy.

Doesn’t this shot look like an ad campaign? I’m totally digging it!

Wondering what I’ve been wearing underneath the coat all this time? What else but a glittery gold dress! It’s sheer and light, a perfect match to a warm coat since it keeps me from getting too hot especially since we live in a place devoid of snow. On another note, this photo shows more the burgundy hues of John’s jeans. Don’t you just love how it seamlessly blends with his boots?
